About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced After School Director to lead our education programs at the YMCA of Metro Atlanta. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing high-quality programs that meet the needs of our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of after school programs that meet and exceed approved branch revenue
  • Provide oversight and management of branch grant programs to ensure compliance with grant standards and policies
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote and recruit new participants and community partnerships
  • Ensure all required Y and licensing childcare standards and policies are met at each location
  • Conduct pilots for new programs and develop plans to manage best practices through engagement of the staff team
  • Effectively manage budgets and hold staff accountable for high-quality results using a formal process to measure progress
  • Recruit, interview, hire, train, develop, schedule, supervise, and evaluate the After School Departments for multiple branch employees and volunteers
  • Foster a climate of innovation and model a high level of member/customer service
  • Monitor progress towards branch goals by running and reviewing all necessary reports
  • Coordinate marketing efforts to maximize enrollments and provide ongoing support to the Executive Director on related issues
Requirements
  • High School or GED and 4+ years of experience in education OR a bachelor's degree and 2+ years of working in education
  • 1+ years of supervisory responsibilities
  • Ability to effectively communicate and manage information to program participants, community leaders, and volunteers and staff of all ages
  • Ability to establish, collaborate, and maintain relationships with all stakeholders
  • Excellent attention to detail, follow-through, and execution on grant obligations
  • Proficient knowledge of computers, various technology, and applications
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, work independently, problem solve, and possess effective time management skills
Preferred Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required in early education, social work, or related field
  • 5+ years program and/or people management experience working in education
  • Experience recruiting, cultivating, and supervising volunteers
  • 4+ years of program or non-profit experience
  • YMCA Team Leader certification
  • Prior people and program management experience
Employment Requirements

Ability to pass a pre-employment background check including Criminal Record check, Drug Screening, and motor vehicle record (MVR) according to company policy.

Must be legally eligible to work in the US without current or future sponsorship.
