Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Safety Specialist to join our team at Marand Builders Inc. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management, engineering, or a related field, and at least five years of experience in the commercial construction industry, overseeing all aspects of jobsite safety for ground-up projects in healthcare, financial, and light industrial sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal OSHA rules and regulations.
  • Investigate all accidents and injuries; recommend and/or coordinate corrective actions with Safety Manager.
  • Provide training for new employees and maintain thorough knowledge of federal and state OSHA regulations and web sites.
  • Identify potential safety hazards at all facilities; report hazards and recommendations for eliminating/reducing to Safety Manager.
  • Encourage employees and supervisors to report all unsafe conditions immediately and schedule or coordinate repairs as soon as possible.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of three years related experience.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and compliance standards.
  • Ability to travel 60-75% of the time.
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Work Environment:

The job is performed indoors in a variety of settings, including the office, interior building job sites, and job sites outside. While performing the duties of this job on a construction job site, the employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme cold and extreme heat.

Physical Demands:

  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a company laptop, iPad, phone, and other business machines.
  • Ability to communicate orally with management and other co-workers is important.
