About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Real Estate & Commercial Transactional Attorney to join our team at Kohler. As a key member of our legal department, you will play a critical role in advising and supporting our business units on corporate real estate transactions and commercial matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Real Estate: Provide expert legal counsel on real estate matters to our Corporate Real Estate team, including domestic and international greenfield expansions, land acquisitions, leases, and divestitures.
  • Negotiate and draft lease agreements, subleases, purchase and sale agreements, and construction-related agreements to support our company's production, supply chain, and sales real estate needs.
  • Conduct thorough real estate due diligence in support of enterprise M&A activity.
Commercial:
  • Provide expert legal counsel on commercial matters to our corporate functions and diverse international business groups, including Kitchen & Bath, Luxury & Wellness, and Hospitality.
  • Negotiate and draft domestic and international commercial agreements, such as supply & purchase agreements, service agreements, development agreements, NDAs, and licensing agreements.
  • Protect business interests and advise management on risks associated with negotiated agreements.
Requirements
  • Undergraduate and law (L.L.B. or J.D.) degree.
  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Wisconsin or licensed in another state bar with ability to obtain in-house counsel status in Wisconsin.
  • Prefer one to five years' experience as a practicing lawyer working on real estate and commercial transactional matters.
