Respiratory Therapist Position at Brown University Health

About the Role:
This Respiratory Therapist position is available at Brown University Health, a leading healthcare provider in Rhode Island. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of a Manager or Lead Therapist to provide respiratory care to patients.
Responsibilities:
- Administer respiratory care as ordered by physicians, utilizing equipment such as aerosol generators and pulmonary function testing devices.
- Maintain patient charts, entering therapy, ventilator, and monitoring information.
- Inspect and test respiratory therapy-related equipment to ensure proper operating condition.
- Perform arterial punctures to obtain blood samples for gas analysis and calibrate blood gas instrumentation.
- Participate in Code Blue emergencies, providing cardiopulmonary resuscitation, airway management, and ventilatory support.
Requirements:
- A minimum of an Associate's Degree in an AMA-approved respiratory therapy program.
- Licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the State of Rhode Island.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to instruct and calm patients.
- Analytic skills to interpret blood gas reports and calculate results of pulmonary function tests.
Estimated Salary Range: $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
