Caregiver for Seniors and Disabled Adults in Hanover, PA

We are seeking a compassionate and patient caregiver to provide non-medical in-home care for seniors and disabled adults in the Hanover, PA area.

As a caregiver with A Helping Hand Home Care Services, you will have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our clients and their families.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing personal hygiene assistance, such as showering, bathing, dressing, and eating
  • Reminding clients to take prescribed medication and assisting with ambulation
  • Helping with mobility around the house or outside, including doctor's appointments and walks
  • Assisting with planning and preparing meals
  • Completing client's shopping or accompanying them to successfully do so
  • Providing local transportation to appointments/errands
  • Performing housekeeping duties
  • Acting quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
  • Reporting any changes in client's condition/behavior and reporting incidents/injuries

Qualifications include:

  • Every other weekend is required to work
  • Enjoy working in a one-on-one setting and eager to improve and continuously learn new skills
  • Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without accommodations
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle with current auto insurance
  • Ability to pass Pennsylvania background check and FBI background check, if needed
  • Ability to pass online competency exam or provide current CNA certification
  • Validated ability to act in a compassionate and supportive manner
  • Available to work different shifts, including nights and/or weekends
  • Prior experience in a healthcare, hospitality, or in-home care environment (preferred but not required, 1 year of experience)
  • Willingness to enforce health and safety standards
  • Supportive and compassionate
  • High School Diploma or equivalent/Experience as a Caregiver
