Job Title: Senior Zonal HIL Engineer

At Ford Motor Company, we're seeking a highly skilled Senior Zonal HIL Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you'll be responsible for designing and implementing HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) test strategies, test cases, and scripts to support our Zonal architecture.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement HIL test strategies, test cases, and scripts to support Zonal architecture
  • Set up test equipment and run hands-on tests to automate
  • Support bug triage and analysis
  • Identify gaps in test coverage to ensure no future regressions
  • Utilize numerical data analysis tools to interpret test results
  • Document results and provide reports
  • Establish traceability using requirement management tools and version control
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of testing and validation experience
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or similar
  • Working experience with Matlab Simulink
  • Familiarity with common vehicle controls theory
  • Experience setting up HIL on dSPACE/Typhoon/similar
  • Knowledge of lab instruments such as DMM, Oscilloscope, power supplies, and DAQs
  • Expertise with industry standard I/O and communications interfaces, e.g., CAN, CAN-FD, LIN, and Ethernet
  • Excellent written, visual, and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in Python scripting for automation or test scripts
  • Expertise in testing Vehicle Controls, Thermal Controls, Power Distribution, Body Controls
Preferred Requirements:
  • Experience with dSPACE and MotionDesk, CarSim, or similar
  • Experience with Test management tools like DOORS/Polarion/JAMA
  • Test automation setup experience like CI/CD Pipeline
  • Familiarity with diagnostics protocol like UDS ISO14229
  • Knowledge/familiarity of standards ISO26262 and SAEJ1772
  • Experience with automotive regulatory, environmental, reliability, and safety requirements. SAE, IEC, ISO
