Job Summary

The Truck Shop Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the shop, ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery to customers. This role involves managing shift supervisors, technicians, and sales associates, as well as resolving any issues that may arise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage shop operations to achieve full understanding and knowledge of how to run a successful business unit.
  • Ensure all budgeted goals are met.
  • Oversee daily ticket review to ensure correct pricing.
  • Resolve problems that cannot be handled at a lower level.
  • Provide coaching to employees to improve performance.
  • Ensure all employees are trained properly and follow procedures.
  • Complete weekly shop schedule to maintain minimum overtime.
  • Ensure shop cleanliness and adequate stock levels.
  • Ensure all shop personnel act and look professional.
  • Ensure service equipment is in good working condition.
  • Conduct shop training meetings to keep employees informed.
  • Count tires daily and maintain tight control on tire inventory.
  • Complete monthly inventory counts and perform spot checks.
  • Evaluate and document return job problems and communicate with upper management.
  • Maintain a profitable business unit.
  • Update national accounts weekly.
  • Enforce and practice all company safety procedures.
  • Conduct daily safety meetings.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
  • Three to five years related experience and/or training.
  • Current valid driver's license and be insurable to drive.
  • Ability to get ASE, DOT, TIA, and other certifications.
  • Able to furnish own tools to perform work.
  • Basic typing skills.
  • Basic understanding of computer operations.
  • Must work a minimum of 50 hours per week.
  • Able to work weekends, holidays, and as needed.
  • Must have reliable transportation and phone.
  • Must be able to communicate in English.
  • Able and willing to deliver friendly, courteous, and prompt customer service.
  • Able and willing to work cooperatively with other team members.

Physical Requirements

  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 lbs.
  • Frequently stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.
  • Occasionally sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
