Job Summary

The City of Canyon TX is seeking a skilled Grounds Technician to join our team at the Palo Duro Creek Golf Course. As a key member of our grounds maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the golf course and surrounding areas are well-maintained and visually appealing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to golf course patrons
  • Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of golf course grounds, including turf care and irrigation systems
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on golf course structures and equipment
  • Ensure the golf course and surrounding areas are clean and free of debris
  • Contribute to a safe and healthy work environment by following safety protocols and reporting any equipment damage or hazards to the supervisor
Requirements
  • Must be at least 17 years of age
  • Must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States
  • G.E.D. is required; previous golf course maintenance experience is preferred but not required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of basic practices in the care of golf course turf grass and associated facilities
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to operate lawn care equipment, power tools, and hand tools
  • Ability to work in a team setting and follow safety protocols
Work Environment and Physical Requirements

The majority of work is performed in an outdoor setting with exposure to inclement weather conditions. The position requires strenuous physical effort to perform manual work involving walking over rough, uneven terrain, repeated bending, climbing, crouching, stopping, stretching, reaching or lifting objects up to 50 pounds.
