We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at DHR Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing all MRI procedures in a timely manner, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare necessary supplies and equipment for scheduled procedures.
- Perform necessary quality control and maintenance on equipment.
- Responsible for the care and cleanliness of equipment, supplies, and work area.
- Accurately comprehend and interpret verbal orders and directions.
- Assume responsibility for the collection and processing of patient specimens.
- Complete accurate documentation on patient records according to policy.
- Perform the necessary functions on the facility's computer systems.
- Insure exams are verified and completed in PACS and RIS systems.
- Responsible for training MRI technologists with the appropriate procedure protocols.
- Confirm that equipment and supplies are MRI compatible.
- Adhere to MRI safety zones and conduct appropriate MRI screening process per policies and procedures.
- Maintain Texas Department of Health (TDH), American College of Radiology (ACR), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), and Joint Commission standards.
- Maintain equipment and procedure competencies.
- Operate all appropriate clinical equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
- Complete and update all employment requirements, including continuing education (i.e. HealthStream), Employee Health, and Radiology Competencies, Credentials, etc.
- Earn and submit 10 Category A credits of continuing education related to MRI annually.
- At least two (2) years of hospital experience preferred.
- Able to demonstrate high degree of competency and experience with MRI procedures preferred.
- Demonstrates accuracy, and the ability to closely follow established procedures.
- Requires reasoning ability and good independent judgment.
- Requires working with frequent interruptions.
- Must project a professional image.
- Graduate of an accredited radiology, magnetic resonance (MR) program, licensed vocational nursing, or emergency medical technician program required.
- Current American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) general certification within three (3) months of hire required.
- Current American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) MRI certification within twelve (12) months of hire preferred.
- Current State of Texas license (TMB) preferred.
- Able to read, write, and speak English required.
- Spanish preferred.
- Able to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of nursing, administration, and physicians.
- Computer knowledge required.
- Call is required.
