Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Kitchen Manager to join our team at Southern States Cooperative. As a key member of our food service team, you will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen activities, ensuring exceptional food quality, and providing outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Food Preparation and Service: Assist with food preparation, plating, and presentation to ensure high-quality dishes are served to our customers.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and train kitchen staff on food preparation, sanitation, and safety procedures.
  • Inventory Management: Conduct regular inventory checks to ensure accurate stock levels and minimize waste.
  • Quality Control: Monitor food quality, temperature, and presentation to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving any issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Sanitation and Safety: Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to company sanitation and safety protocols.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine equipment maintenance and repairs to ensure optimal kitchen performance.
  • Menu Development: Assist in developing and implementing new menu items, ensuring they meet company standards and customer preferences.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary degree or certification preferred.
  • Experience: 1+ years of experience in a high-volume food service environment, with a proven track record of leadership and customer service.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
