Job Title: Mental Health Specialist: Trauma Recovery in Denver County Jail

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Specialist to join our team at The Empowerment Program Inc. as a Trauma Therapist in the Women's Unit of Denver County Jail.

Key Responsibilities:

* Conduct trauma education groups and comprehensive intakes (biopsychosocial assessments)
* Utilize participant-centered, trauma-informed, harm reduction, and strengths-based approaches
* Facilitate and co-facilitate groups addressing trauma and substance use disorder
* Create participant-driven treatment and transition plans
* Provide brief therapy, care management, and transition planning services
* Administer informed consent forms, disclosure statements, and assessments
* Enter data in compliance with JBBS and OBH standards
* Identify and connect participants with appropriate referrals to community mental health and supportive services providers

Requirements:

* Must be licensed (LAC, LPC, LCSW, CAC III) or working towards licensure with a provided learning plan
* Must have a working understanding of harm reduction theory and trauma-informed services
* Experience working with a diverse population with behavioral health needs
