Medical Examiner for US Veterans
At MRG Exams, we are seeking a Medical Examiner to perform Disability Assessments on United States Veterans as part of the VA's disability benefits process. This role offers a unique opportunity to serve the veteran community and make a meaningful difference in their lives.
About the RoleWe are looking for a highly skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Examiner, you will be responsible for reviewing medical records electronically through a web portal and performing focused, in-person physical exams on each Veteran.
The purpose of these assessments is to provide an accurate picture of the Veteran's medical condition, which will then be used by the United States Veterans Administration to determine their eligibility for disability benefits. It is essential to note that the Medical Examiner does not make disability determinations; this is solely the responsibility of the VA.
This is a full-time position with a set schedule during normal business hours, Monday through Friday. You will NOT treat patients or prescribe medication in this role, as your sole focus will be on conducting Disability Assessments. The ideal candidate will have excellent time management skills, be able to analyze data from medical records and exam findings, and possess strong communication skills.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct in-person physical exams on Veterans as part of the Disability Assessment process
- Analyze medical records electronically through a web portal to gather relevant information
- Electronically document exam findings using the web portal
To be successful in this role, you must:
- Hold a current, unrestricted NP or PA (NCCPA accredited) license
- Be proficient in using a computer
- Have excellent time management and analytical skills
We offer a competitive compensation package, including:
- A guaranteed hourly rate of $60+
- Training and continued support provided
- Health Insurance options available
- A supplied computer for work use
Join us at MRG Exams and make a positive impact on the lives of US Veterans. If you are passionate about delivering high-quality care and have the necessary skills and qualifications, we encourage you to apply.
