About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at Optum. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the delivery of exceptional healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Diagnostic Ultrasound Examinations: Conduct comprehensive ultrasound examinations, utilizing advanced equipment and techniques to produce high-quality images and diagnostic reports.
  • Support OBGYN and Family/Internal Medicine: Collaborate with obstetricians and gynecologists, as well as family and internal medicine physicians, to provide expert ultrasound services and support patient care.
  • Primary Responsibilities:
    • Exhibit Exceptional Customer Service: Consistently demonstrate a commitment to superior customer service, ensuring that patients receive high-quality care and attention.
    • Produce Diagnostic Ultrasound Images: Utilize advanced ultrasound equipment and techniques to produce high-quality images and diagnostic reports.
    • Select and Operate Equipment: Select the appropriate type of equipment and transducers for each examination, ensuring optimal image quality and patient safety.
    • Ensure Patient Safety and Comfort: Prioritize patient safety and comfort, ensuring that patients are physically covered and their needs for privacy and confidentiality are met.
    • Maintain a Clean and Safe Environment: Maintain a clean, neat, and safe environment for patients and staff, adhering to company and department policies.
    • Assist in the Development of New Procedures: Collaborate with colleagues to develop new procedures and techniques, ensuring that our diagnostic imaging services remain cutting-edge and effective.
    • Perform General Office Duties: Assist with general office duties, such as ordering supplies and equipment, to ensure the efficient operation of our diagnostic imaging department.
    • Attend Educational Programs: Participate in educational programs and share knowledge with peers to stay up-to-date on the latest diagnostic imaging techniques and technologies.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with a strong foundation in mathematics and science.
  • Graduate of an Accredited Sonography Program: Graduate from an accredited school of sonography, with a strong understanding of ultrasound principles and techniques.
  • ARDMS Certification in OB/GYN or Abdomen: Hold ARDMS certification in OB/GYN or abdomen, demonstrating expertise in diagnostic ultrasound imaging.
  • 3+ Years of Ultrasound Experience: Possess at least 3 years of experience in ultrasound imaging, with a strong track record of producing high-quality images and diagnostic reports.
