About This Role

We are seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team as a Medical Assistant. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional patient care and contributing to our mission to promote lifelong wellness through compassionate, evidence-based practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Update and maintain electronic patient records, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
  • Manage the Physician inbox, prioritizing tasks assigned via ONCO EMR and maintaining a high level of productivity.
  • Provide exceptional front-office support, including answering phone calls and greeting patients.
  • Maintain medical inventory, ordering new materials as needed to ensure efficient operations.
  • Record patient information, such as vital signs, weight, and changes in medical history before each appointment.
  • Clean and prepare examination rooms prior to patient appointments.
  • Escort patients to exam rooms and assist with routine screening tests.
  • Record patient interview, history, and chief complaint.
  • Provide patient education on medications, disease management, home treatments, and special diets.
  • Prepare patients for examinations and perform basic lab tests.
  • Administer medication under a physician's order and follow established protocols to reduce medical errors.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  • A current NYS LPN license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Consistent professional conduct and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Experience working with EMRs.
  • Reliable transportation to NYH locations for patient care needs.
