About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity to join Baker Distributing as a highly skilled sales professional, responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and driving sales growth at our wholesale HVAC distributorship.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent Baker Distributing as a leader in the industry, ensuring maximum sales and customer satisfaction.
  • Interact with internal and external stakeholders, including sales teams, vendors, and contractors.
  • Manage showroom merchandising and re-stock product to meet customer needs.
  • Resolve customer relations issues, providing timely and effective solutions.
  • Process sales orders, up-selling associated items to maximize revenue.
  • Provide excellent customer service, sourcing and shipping parts, managing inventory control, and administering warranties.
  • Research products to meet customer needs, using computer systems, catalogs, and other reference sources.
  • Organize stock on shelves or racks in the sales area, maintaining a visually appealing display.
  • Apply suggestive selling techniques and upsell to current and prospective customers.
  • Conduct outgoing customer sales or service calls, resolving complaints and improving customer relationships.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a strong background in technical support, HVAC parts, and customer service/sales is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, intermediate MS Office capabilities, and a minimum of 1+ year experience in a counter sales role are essential.
  • The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of air conditioning, heating, and ventilation equipment at a wholesale distribution level, as well as strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities, and a customer-centric focus.
  • Ability to work independently, meet assigned goals and objectives, and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a team environment are also required.
  • Proficiency in speaking, reading, and understanding English is necessary to ensure compliance with safety standards, training, policies, and procedures.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds, standing, sitting, walking, climbing, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
  • Ability to utilize a computer keyboard, monitor, and telephone for prolonged periods.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • May use equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.

Compensation

We offer a competitive salary range of $21.00-$25.00 per hour, commensurate with experience, along with opportunities for professional growth and development within our organization.
