Overview:

The Advocates Day Habilitation Program in Ashland, MA seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse to join their team. The program serves adults with developmental disabilities and aims to engage them in therapeutic and recreational activities.

Compensation: $30/hour + $5,000 sign on bonus (applicable to external candidates only)

Job Description: As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will provide daily nursing services, including medication administration, g-tube feeding, first aid, and more. This is a full-time position with daytime weekday hours, no weekends or major holidays.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer prescribed medication as necessary
  • Consult with Team Leaders, Case Managers, and other essential individuals to share medical information
  • Monitor recommendations and provide daily nursing notes and monthly summaries as needed
  • Promote community inclusion and self-advocacy
  • Collaborate with staff to develop and implement DHSP/ISP curricula
  • Provide emergency first aid and direct staff in case of a medical crisis

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an approved nursing school with current licensure in Massachusetts as a LPN
  • 1 year experience in a community healthcare setting preferred
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
  • Basic computer knowledge
