Construction Project Quality Assurance Specialist

The QA/QC Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that all phases of multi-family housing construction projects meet the highest standards of quality and compliance. This individual will oversee and enforce quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) processes throughout the construction lifecycle, from pre-construction planning to final inspections, ensuring compliance with building codes, company standards, and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement QA/QC plans, procedures, and checklists tailored to each multi-family construction project.
- Conduct regular site inspections to verify that work meets specifications, codes, and project requirements.
- Perform quality audits and inspections of construction materials, installation methods, and finished work.
- Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, and subcontractors to resolve quality-related issues in real-time.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Review architectural drawings, specifications, and other project documents to ensure quality benchmarks are met.
- Document non-conformance reports (NCRs) and work with project teams to implement corrective actions.
- Track and maintain quality control logs and records, including testing results, inspections, and audits.
- Assist in the preparation for and participation in third-party inspections and certifications.
- Train and mentor field staff and subcontractors on quality standards and best practices.
- Conduct root cause analysis on quality defects and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure the timely resolution of punch list items during the final project phase.
- Maintain communication with clients and stakeholders to provide updates on QA/QC activities and project status.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience in a QA/QC role within the construction industry, preferably multi-family housing.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, industry standards, and quality management systems.
- Familiarity with construction materials, methods, and installation techniques.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify and resolve quality issues.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with project teams and clients.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and construction management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend).
- Certifications such as OSHA 30, LEED, or CQCM are a plus.
- Ability to navigate construction sites, including climbing ladders, walking on uneven surfaces, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
