Job Summary

At Williamson Health, we are seeking a skilled Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Technician to join our team. As a DME Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care by ensuring that our patients receive the necessary medical equipment to aid in their recovery.

Key Responsibilities

Fit patients for DME as directed by Physician, Physician Assistant, or Nurse Practitioner.
Provide patient education regarding the use of the appropriate DME.
Troubleshoot issues with patients who have questions regarding their prescribed DME products.
Enter charges for DME dispensed into the Electronic Medical Records system.
Utilize Don Joy's Motion MD system for inventory tracking and set up Rental agreements and tracking systems.
Triage and multitask based on the needs and priority of a high-volume clinic.
Ensure that all necessary documentation and authorization is obtained as it relates to payer requirements.
Attend to patients post-operatively to dispense post-op required equipment and educate as per physician orders and prescriptions.
Observe universal precautions.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the clinical team in a manner that promotes positive working relationships.
Maintain a clean and organized work area and personal appearance that reflects professionalism and demonstrates the importance we place on cleanliness, orderliness, and safety.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent, required. Clinical background or Athletic Training education preferred.
At least one year of experience in a medical setting with some prior Durable Medical Equipment or similar experience is preferred.
Fundamental knowledge of technical work with orthopedic devices and bracing related activities.
Competent in the use of standard medical office equipment and medical supplies, including computers with appropriate medical software, facsimile machines, copying machines, and telephones.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
