About the Role:

This role plays a crucial part in advancing the clinical mission and goals of Medstar Health. As a Nurse Liaison, you will be responsible for providing individualized assistance to patients entering the healthcare system, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely progress toward the best clinical outcome.

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to navigate complex healthcare systems effectively. You will also have a proven ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, patients, and families to deliver high-quality patient care.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the achievement of established department goals and objectives, adhering to department policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety standards.
  • Perform professional clinical services in the outpatient setting, including patient assessment, communication between patient and provider, and facilitating prompt access to a provider aligned with patient needs.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with various disciplines involved in patient care to ensure seamless integration with the healthcare team.
  • Facilitate the evaluation of patients by interfacing with referring providers, clinical research coordinators, scheduling coordinators, consultants, insurance coordinators, and social workers.
  • Coordinate the complex management and education of patients to ensure effective communication with the healthcare team.
  • Monitor triage lines for individual centers/programs and screen patients for appropriate information.
  • Maintain and review patient records, charts, and other pertinent information, obtaining and reviewing consent forms, treatment plans, and side effects as necessary.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong background in nursing, with experience in patient care coordination and communication.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • A proven track record of delivering high-quality patient care and achieving departmental goals.
