Job Summary:

As a Volunteer Coordinator Assistant at University Hospital, Newark NJ, you will play a vital role in supporting the Department of Volunteer Services. Under the direction of the Manager Volunteer Services, you will assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of programs. Your administrative and program support will be crucial in maintaining files, distributing mail, and providing exceptional customer service. You will also be responsible for data entry, typing, and organizing workload to meet established priorities.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of programs for the Department of Volunteer Services.
  • Provide administrative and program support to the Manager Volunteer Services, volunteers, and interns.
  • Maintain files, distribute mail, and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Perform data entry, typing, and organize workload to meet established priorities.

Qualifications:

Associate's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Social Science, or a related discipline, plus one year of volunteer coordination or related experience preferably in a healthcare setting required.

Computer proficiency and experience with office software required.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills; program development skills, along with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize.

Position may require evening and weekend availability.

Equivalent experience, education, and/or training may be substituted for the education requirements.
