Welcome to WVU Medicine, where we're committed to delivering exceptional patient care. As a Lead Ultrasound Tech, you'll play a vital role in our Diagnostic Medical Sonography department.

Job Summary

We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ultrasound Technologist to lead our team of imaging professionals. In this role, you'll be responsible for performing complex ultrasound procedures, preparing and explaining exams to patients, and maintaining current knowledge of procedures in specialty areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepares and explains exams to patients
  • Performs all exams that pertain to specialty area
  • Maintains current knowledge of procedures in specialty areas
  • Assists physician during specialty exam
  • Demonstrates appropriate patient/family/self-safety practices
  • Participates in the education/oversight of orientees, ancillary staff, and students
  • Prepares staff schedules
  • Maintains accreditation through IAC or ACR
  • Technical Director with IAC if applicable
  • Maintains all duties that pertain to quality improvement
  • Maintains day-to-day operations with the department
Requirements
  • Graduate of approved school and/or certification, RDMS
  • CPR certification required
  • RVT certified if working in Vascular prior to hire
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Ultrasound
