Compensation Package

The estimated annual salary for this role is $95,600 - $203,000. This range may vary based on factors such as location, level of experience, and applicable state or local minimum wage laws.

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Care Specialist to join our team at one of our full-service veterinary hospitals. As a key member of our hospital team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, performing physical examinations, diagnosing and treating diseases, and providing preventive care according to patient signalment, lifestyle, and environment.

You will utilize a problem-based approach to develop complete problem lists, differential diagnoses, diagnostic plans, and treatments based on interpretation of diagnostic test results. Additionally, you will document all patient observations, findings, treatments, and medications in the medical record, ensuring accurate and concise records.

This role requires excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as the ability to maintain a professional attitude and demeanor during emotional and stressful situations. You must also be comfortable performing anesthesia and routine surgeries, including spays, neuters, mass removals, and dentals.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school.
  • Active licensure as a veterinarian without contingencies in the state where the hospital is located or ability to obtain by start date.
  • Current DEA license and Controlled Substance License, if applicable.
  • USDA Category I Accreditation or completion within two months of hire date.
  • Must be comfortable performing anesthesia and routine surgeries.
