Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nutrition Specialist to join our team at the City of Laredo, TX. As a Nutrition Specialist, you will be responsible for coordinating clinical functions for the Women, Infant, and Children (WIC) program. This includes establishing and maintaining relationships throughout the community, supervising clinic staff, and determining applicant eligibility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise, direct, and evaluate assigned staff
  • Coordinate and oversee WIC clinical functions and activities in accordance with State requirements
  • Establish and maintain relationships with the community through outreach and service
  • Determine applicant eligibility and provide nutrition education and counseling to participants
  • Prepare and submit reports, including quality assurance and auditing reports
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or Home Economics with 12 semester hours in foods and nutrition
  • Valid Texas Driver License
  • Registered Dietitian License is desirable
