Job Summary

USPI is seeking a skilled Surgical Technician to join our team at North Shore Surgery Center. As a Surgical Tech, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality surgical services for our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain a sterile field during surgical procedures in the operating room.
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and efficiently assist physicians with operative procedures.
  • Assist circulating nurses and the surgical team in maintaining a sterile environment.
  • Participate in emergency situations and demonstrate knowledge of specific responsibilities.
  • Assist in gathering necessary surgical supplies and equipment, and perform sponge, needle, and instrument counts.
  • Transport surgical equipment to cleaning areas and assist in cleaning and reprocessing instrument sets.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Completion of an appropriate surgical technician program.
  • Previous surgical technician experience of at least one year.
  • Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient.
  • Excellent team player with ability to communicate with staff.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Ophthalmology strongly preferred.
  • Ability to properly load lenses in Ophthalmology cases.
  • Strong knowledge of ophthalmic instrumentation and microscopes.
