Job Summary

This is a full-time, 10-month position that works on an academic calendar (August - June). The Evening Counselor is responsible for providing support and responsibilities to students living in the dorm, including daily living skills, activities, parent communication, and safety drills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support and guidance to students with visual impairments
  • Develop and implement daily living skills programs
  • Collaborate with parents and other staff members to ensure student success
  • Participate in safety drills and emergency response planning
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in counseling, education, or a related field
  • Experience working with students with visual impairments
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
Working Conditions

This position works Sunday - Thursday, 2:30pm to 11:00pm. The California School for the Blind is located in Fremont, California, and offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
