Key Responsibilities:

  • Function as a Surgical First Assistant in the Operating Room
  • Position and drape patients under the direction of the surgeon
  • Suture and retract tissue layers
  • Assist in intra-operative patient care by performing technical duties as assigned
  • Perform comprehensive and problem-focused histories and physical examinations
  • Participate in rotating on-call responsibilities

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience functioning as an orthopedic, surgical first assist
  • Current national surgical assistant certification
  • Active BLS and ACLS
