POSITION SUMMARY:

This role is essential in overseeing the dietary operations, ensuring that all meals are prepared according to established menus and dietary requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare meals in alignment with planned menus, standardized recipes, and special dietary needs, making only authorized substitutions.
  • Guarantee the prompt preparation and delivery of nutritious and visually appealing meals, adhering to Federal, State, and organizational standards.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment in accordance with Federal and State regulations.
  • Provide leadership and direction to ensure food quality, safety standards, and resident satisfaction are consistently met.
  • Safeguard food during all stages of preparation, holding, service, cooking, and transportation.
  • Assist Registered Dietitian with related duties as necessary.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certified Dietary Manager Credential is required.
  • Culinary Arts Degree is preferred but not mandatory.
  • ServSafe Certification is essential.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in food service management.
  • Experience in healthcare food service is preferred.
  • Advanced culinary skills are necessary.
  • Strong understanding of various cooking techniques and culinary fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of therapeutic diets and familiarity with regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to remain composed in high-pressure situations and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Attention to detail and capability to train and supervise staff are crucial.
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to confidentiality.
  • Effective communication skills are required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to stand and walk for 75% of the workday.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and hold up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent stooping, bending, and stretching in confined spaces is necessary.
  • May be exposed to extreme temperatures from ovens and freezers; must be able to work comfortably in hot and humid conditions.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Ensō Village is dedicated to equitable pay and transparency. The salary range for this position is $70,000-$80,000, with compensation decisions based on various factors, including experience, education, skills, and market data.
