Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Systems Engineer to join our team at Northrop Grumman. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering the overall IT technical baseline and system design, including delivery to the customer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver the overall IT technical baseline and system design, including delivery to the customer.
  • Interface with project managers, architects, technical specialists, and customers regularly.
  • Communicate both written and verbal with a technical team and a customer team throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ability to travel as business needs dictate.

Requirements:

  • Must have an active DOD Secret or higher security clearance or Active within the last 24 months and must be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
  • Further, the candidate's clearance must be able to meet the government customer's criteria for working on their program.
  • Experience in the System Engineering role providing written and oral presentations to customers, vendors, and technical teams.
  • Demonstrate strong foundational expertise in Information Technologies with subject matter expertise in one of the following areas: Virtualization, Data Center designs and solutions, Data Center Backup overall design, Software as a service, Cloud technologies.

Education and Experience:

  • Basic Qualifications for level 3: 5 years of IT Project Management, System Engineering or related IT experience with a BS degree in a STEM or Business focused discipline; also acceptable is 3 years or experience with a related Masters; or 0 years with PHD.
  • Basic Qualifications for level 4: 9 years of IT Project Management, System Engineering or related IT experience with a Bachelors degree in a STEM or Business focused discipline; also acceptable is 7 years or experience with a related Masters; or 4 years with PHD.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Candidates with excellent communication skills, including good customer relationship management.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment, including strong leadership / team building skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple assignments and deadlines simultaneously.

Systems Engineering Background:

Demonstrate Systems Engineering and System Thinking experience across the product development lifecycle including concept design, detailed design, integration, verification, qualification, and validation.

Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills necessary to prepare and present briefings, papers, and reports, and lead working groups and technical interchange meetings.

Develop and derive customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, cost constraints, and non-functional requirements such as user experience, cyber and physical security, often within a tool such as DOORS or a requirement traceability matrix.

Develop and organize test plans, integrate test cases, and ensure testing is complete and documented, including utilizing automated verification and validation methods.

Demonstrate familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools such as, but not limited to, Cameo, Orbus, etc.

Perform detailed market analysis and trade studies.
