Salary and Benefits

The competitive salary for this co-op position ranges from $18 to $22 per hour, depending on the location. The full-time equivalent annual salary would be approximately $45,000 to $55,000. Additionally, benefits include 3 paid vacation days per work term, paid holidays and vacation, 401K match up to 6%, employee appreciation events, and continuous learning opportunities through in-person, hybrid, and virtual training.

Job Description

This Mechanical Engineering co-op position provides students with outstanding practical experience tailored to their interests and career aspirations. Our Cooperative Education Program exposes emerging talent to manufacturing and technology development processes, develops industry knowledge and skills, and prepares students for transition to a full-time position at Schaeffler. You will work with talented professionals and cutting-edge technology to drive innovation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support design efforts for product development, including calculation, simulation, CAD modeling, analysis, and component sizing.
  • Component or system level mechanical testing.
  • Component teardown analysis - physical teardown, inspection pictures, and documentation.
  • Interfacing teams - effectively communicate with cross-functional teams to complete assigned tasks.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher per semester.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication ability (written & verbal).
  • Self-motivated & driven to achieve results.
  • Assertive approach to solving problems.
  • Ability to prioritize.
  • The ability to sit at a workstation for extended periods and lift thirty pounds.
