Inpatient Phlebotomy Specialist

As an Inpatient Phlebotomist at Sparrow Health System, you will play a vital role in obtaining blood specimens for clinical laboratory analysis. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
• Verify patient identity and obtain blood specimens accurately and efficiently
• Perform venipunctures, arterial punctures, blood cultures, and micro collection techniques according to policy
• Monitor blood collection schedule and prioritize workload
• Utilize SOFT lab to track and log specimens
• Demonstrate a positive, professional image when interacting with patients, staff, and others in the hospital
Requirements
• High School Diploma or GED
• Successful completion of a formal phlebotomy education program or equivalent experience
• Ability to read, follow directions, and perform procedures associated with specimen collection, handling, and processing
• Strong customer service focus and ability to work well under stressful conditions
• Basic computer knowledge and ability to use a keyboard as required
