Job Summary

Detroit Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join our team in Detroit, Michigan.

About the Role

As a Medical Technologist at Detroit Medical Center, you will be responsible for performing quantitative and qualitative laboratory tests on patient specimens according to standard laboratory formulas and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze test results and prepare samples for testing
  • Calculate test findings and maintain records
  • Prepare and determine the validity of solutions, reagents, media stains, and various materials in the testing process
  • Process and test all types of laboratory specimens
  • Review and report lab results
  • Perform operational duties, maintenance, and advanced troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation and equipment

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an approved college or university and/or graduate of an accredited school of medical technology, or equivalent
  • Prefer 6 months to 1 year medical laboratory technologist, clinical laboratory scientist experience in an acute care facility
  • Required: Registered or registry eligible in accordance with an approved certifying agency (ASCP, NCA, AMT, or CSMLS within 12 months of hire)
