About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Diversity and Inclusion Strategist to join our team at Major League Soccer. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for driving our diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives forward.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in inclusion and change management, with a proven track record of advancing inclusive principles to drive business outcomes. You will work closely with senior leaders to develop strategies that build an inclusive work environment, improve cultural proficiency, and promote equitable practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of MLS Inclusion programs and initiatives, from strategy to execution, working closely with stakeholders across the League and Clubs.
  • Partner with relevant stakeholders on the MLS Maturity Model, MLS Advance, and MLS Intercultural Training, ensuring alignment with business objectives and core values.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure effective implementation of inclusion strategies, serving as a valuable resource for best practices and providing support where needed.
  • Develop and recommend meaningful metrics and benchmarks to measure the effectiveness of Inclusion initiatives, regularly reporting progress to leadership.
  • Lead, support, and leverage the contributions of ERGs to build a sense of belonging and address the unique needs of various employee communities.
  • Serve as a key advisor to the Chief Engagement and Inclusion Officer, supporting the preparation of communication materials and decks.
  • Manage relationships with key Club stakeholders, external partners, vendors, and consultants, ensuring task completion and objective achievement.
  • Collaborate with HR in developing inclusive talent methodologies across the organization.
  • Mentor and develop a team of 2 members supporting MLS initiatives and emerging into the DEI space.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • 12+ years' experience in progressive leadership roles, including 5+ years of leading diversity and inclusion and/or change management at an enterprise level.
