About the Job

Cayuga Health System, a leading healthcare provider in the region, is seeking an experienced Mammography Technologist to join its team. This role involves conducting mammography exams, including needle localizations and breast biopsies, with a focus on delivering exceptional patient care and safety.


As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will work closely with patients, visitors, and staff to provide high-quality service and excellent patient care. Your expertise in radiation safety and ability to work effectively as part of a team will be essential in this role.


The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of an Associate's degree in Radiologic Sciences and hold ARRT certification in Mammography. Prior experience in mammography or a related field is preferred, but new graduates are also encouraged to apply.


This position offers competitive compensation, including an estimated annual salary of $**$63,100***, based on industry standards for the location. Additional benefits include comprehensive employee benefits programs and opportunities for professional growth and development.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct mammography exams, including setting acquisition factors, positioning patients, and evaluating images for optimal quality.
  • Maintain adherence to department policies, ensuring accurate patient identification, documentation, and protocol compliance.
  • Foster a safe environment by following Radiation Safety Policies for patients and staff, utilizing proper shielding and collimation techniques.
  • Document all steps involved in the exam process, including patient history, technical information, and PACS data entry.
  • Assess stock levels and manage inventory through computerized systems.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate's degree in Radiologic Sciences with ARRT certification in Mammography.
  • Experience: Preference given to those with two years' experience in mammography; new graduates welcome.
  • Licensure: ARRT credentials for diagnostic imaging and NYS license.
