Job Title: HVAC Systems Specialist

Job Summary:

L3Harris Technologies is seeking an experienced HVAC Systems Specialist to join our team. As an HVAC Systems Specialist, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems in our high-tech facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation: Set up new HVAC systems, including assembling components, connecting systems to fuel and water supply lines, air ducts, and other necessary connections.
  • Maintenance: Perform routine checks and maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure they operate efficiently, which may involve cleaning, replacing filters, and checking fluid levels.
  • Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnose problems with HVAC systems and make necessary repairs to components such as compressors, motors, condensers, thermostats, fans, and switches.
  • Inspection: Conduct inspections to ensure that HVAC systems are compliant with regulations and working safely and effectively.
  • System Upgrades: Recommend upgrades or improvements to increase the efficiency and performance of HVAC systems.
  • Customer Service: Communicate with customers to understand their HVAC needs, provide recommendations, and ensure customer satisfaction with services provided.
  • Documentation: Keep detailed records of all inspections, maintenance, and repairs performed, as well as noting any changes made to systems.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while performing HVAC work to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Emergency Response: Be available to respond to emergency situations involving HVAC systems outside of normal working hours if required.
  • Learning: Stay current with the latest HVAC technologies, tools, and best practices through periodic and annual training.

Requirements:

  • Requires advanced job knowledge/skills.
  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/associate degree with a minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Master Technician level experience 8–10 years (preferred)
  • Universal certification
  • RMGA certification
  • Security clearance not required, but preferred
  • Proficient in using CMMS database
  • Environmental chambers
  • Blueprint and schematics and wiring diagrams
