Job Description

Hoefer Welker is seeking a highly skilled Project Architect to join our team. As a Project Architect, you will be responsible for managing, designing, and delivering successful building projects through a proactive delivery process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support and direct staff within a team building atmosphere, prioritizing the company's, client's, and project's best interests.
  • Collaborate with consultants, contractors, and owners in an integrated project delivery process, ensuring client satisfaction and project goals are met.
  • Focus on client satisfaction, creating opportunities for future project-related services.
  • Coordinate and monitor project personnel, ensuring individual job assignments align with project requirements.
  • Maintain awareness of project scope, schedule, budget, and status.
  • Develop and maintain client confidence through professionalism, accountability, and performance.
  • Conduct architectural studies, develop design concepts, and prepare reports, calculations, and detailed design and construction documents.
  • Participate in plan presentations to governing and permitting authorities for land use, zoning, and permit approvals.
  • Observe construction project inspections, advising contractors on plan interpretation.
  • Prepare materials, write construction specifications, and prepare detailed construction documents.
  • Ensure quality assurance programs are initiated and adhered to throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or equivalent education or experience.
  • 5-10 years of experience as a Project Architect on technical projects.
  • Architectural registration with a current license.
  • NCARB registration and LEED Green Associate Accreditation desired.
  • Valid motor vehicle operator's license and willingness to use an insured personal vehicle for work-related purposes.
Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in Revit, Sketchup, and Microsoft Office.
  • Deltek Vantagepoint and Newforma knowledge preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team atmosphere and meet deadlines.
  • Great leadership, decision-making, delegation, and mentoring skills.
  • Ability to provide high-quality, responsive design solutions and documentation for construction in various styles, with a proven ability to provide exceptional client service.
  • Self-motivated, with a strong work ethic and a personal drive to consistently meet project design and performance goals.
  • Ability to work independently and with various disciplines and types of people, committed to being an effective, contributing team player.

Physical Demands:
While performing the responsibilities of this job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers to handle or feel and manipulate a keyboard or computer mouse. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities required for this job include close vision.
