Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Behavioral Health Peer Specialist to join our team in Sacramento County. As a Peer Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to individuals and families affected by behavioral health challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide peer support and guidance to consumers of behavioral health services and their families
  • Share recovery stories and experiences to inspire and motivate others
  • Identify wellness goals and develop plans to achieve them
  • Provide emotional support and connect individuals with community resources
  • Collaborate with treatment teams to ensure comprehensive care
Requirements
  • Currently or previously a consumer of behavioral health services or a parent/family member/caregiver of a behavioral health consumer
  • Ability to maintain client confidentiality and adhere to confidentiality policies
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Valid California Driver License, Class C or higher
Working Conditions
  • Exposure to emotionally disturbed or mentally ill persons and/or confrontational interpersonal situations
  • Work in dangerous, high-crime areas of the community
  • Work during non-routine hours, including evenings, holidays, and weekends
