MRI Imaging Specialist

At Sigma, we are seeking an experienced MRI Technologist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing patients for MRI scans, positioning them correctly, and operating complex electronic equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for MRI scans, including positioning and setting imaging parameters.
- Operate complex electronic equipment, including MRI scanners and related instrumentation.
- Perform quality control procedures on equipment and record results as required.
- Report any potential equipment-related problems to the supervisor as necessary.
- Prepare for and perform intravenous injections of MR contrast agents.
- Monitor patients for and respond to adverse reactions to MR contrast agents.
- Instruct patients and visitors in MR safety procedures.
- Ensure adherence to safety practices by all persons entering the MRI area.
- Review outpatient schedules to confirm exams have been properly protocoled and reviewed for potential contra-indications.
- Act as the final checkpoint for patient safety and protocol clarification.
- Communicate with radiologists for protocol clarification when necessary.
- Assist in the instruction of visitors and medical staff rotating through the area.
- Mentor new staff and fellow technologists as necessary.
Requirements:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail, mathematical skills, and technical skills.
- Proficient computer skills.
- At least 2 years of experience as an MRI Technologist.
- Graduate of a JRCERT-approved Radiologic Technology Program or MRI course.
- Current BLS certificate.
- ARRT(MR) certification.
