Overview of the Position

Sterling Engineering is seeking a skilled Tooling Design Specialist to join our team in Milwaukee, WI. This is an onsite position that offers a direct hire opportunity with a permanent contract.

Target Pay Range: $28-$38/hour (OT X1.5 Pay Available)

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing a wide variety of tooling using AutoCAD 2d and Autodesk Inventor 3D software. Key duties include performing calculations, developing models and drawings, maintaining documentation, and checking designs of peers.

Responsibilities:

  • Validate calculations used in toolset design processes
  • Develop and implement drawing/design standards for toolsets
  • Collaborate with technicians to troubleshoot toolset designs and identify improvements
Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates should have an associate's degree in mechanical design or a related field, along with at least one year of drafting/designing experience. Proficiency in 2D CAD software, preferably AutoCAD, and solid modeling software, such as Autodesk Inventor, is essential.
