About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Chief Vehicle Safety Systems Developer to lead our efforts in developing passive safety electronics for seatbelts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering and at least 8 years of experience in design release engineering for restraints and safety electronics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop functional requirements for the Seatbelt Restraint system
  • Collaborate with internal teams and Tier 1 suppliers to develop technical requirements for systems and components
  • Lead/support design, development, release, and certification of systems and components using product development tools
  • Ensure timely delivery, high quality, and cost-effectiveness of projects
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
  • 8+ years of Design Release Engineering experience in Restraints and/or Safety Electronics
  • Familiarity with vehicle level safety development processes
  • Excellent communication, team building, and relationship building skills
  • Ability to lead teams, integrate technical tradeoffs, and optimize solutions
  • Direct working experience with NHTSA/FMVSS, NCAP, and IIHS Crash Requirements
