Salary and Benefits:

About the Role:
This exciting opportunity is open to highly skilled and experienced physician assistants seeking a challenging career in critical care medicine. As a Critical Care Physician Assistant Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and participating in ongoing professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert care to critically ill patients in the Trauma ICU (TICU), Surgical ICU (SICU), and Burn ICU (BICU)
- Assess health needs, plan, and evaluate care of patients on general surgery services and in surgical intensive care units
- Participate in inpatient sign out, follow up with General Surgery teams/residents/attending physicians, and perform surgical consultations on potential general surgery patients
- Coordinate procedures, obtain consults, and discharge patients when appropriate
- Triage phone calls, review critical labs, and communicate results with patients and medical staff
- Conduct initial and periodic physical examinations, explore patients' interpretation of health needs, and identify and treat patients in hospitalized settings
Requirements:
- Possess a current, active, and unrestricted licensed Physician Assistant in the State of California
- Hold a valid DEA number from the US Drug Enforcement Administration
- Maintain current BLS certification and obtain ACLS and PALS Certification within six months of hire
- Have ATLS certification within six months of hire
- Accumulate at least six months of experience in Trauma/Critical Care
Preferred Qualifications:
- Be bilingual in Spanish and/or Vietnamese
- Familiarize yourself with UC policies and procedures
- Acquire a minimum of 1 year of experience in Surgical services that include scrubbing, draping, retracting, exposing, clamping, ligating, and suturing
