Job Description

At SpaceX, we are seeking a highly skilled PCB Machine Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our Starlink production team, you will be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of our production equipment, ensuring the highest quality and reliability of our products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform planned maintenance and unplanned repairs of production line equipment, including copper electroplating, chemical etching, and ultrapure process water treatment.
  • Read and utilize schematics to troubleshoot systems down to the component level.
  • Read and safely execute lockout tagout procedures.
  • Utilize diagnostic equipment to monitor equipment performance, diagnose root cause, and make reliability improvement recommendations.
  • Communicate with suppliers, specify requirements, and submit purchase requisitions to purchase necessary items.
  • Provide feedback and work with maintenance and engineering teams to drive root cause of equipment downtime.
  • Conduct training for production personnel.
  • Operate material handling equipment, including scissor lifts and forklifts.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
  • 2+ years of maintenance or troubleshooting experience with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and/or hydraulic systems.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience maintaining PCB manufacturing equipment from vendors such as Temgtai, Benmayor, Schmoll, Shoda, Sigma Mecer, Wise, Advanced Engineering, Boffotto, Dynachem, Indubond, Machvision, or others.
  • 5+ years of experience as a maintenance technician or field service engineer.
  • Methodical approach to troubleshooting with high level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent manual dexterity in order to repair and perform preventative maintenance on precision manufacturing equipment.
  • Proficiently use a computer and MS Outlook and Word.
  • Ability to use power tools and hand tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics and drawings.
  • Ability to write detailed repair reports when necessary.
  • Ability to maintain a safe and clean working environment while adhering to company policies, quality policies, and industry standards.
  • Detail oriented, organized, and able to demonstrate a high sense of urgency.
  • Familiar with Lean or Six Sigma tools like Five Whys methodology.
  • Current or past certification for IPC-A-600, IPC-6012, or equivalent.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be willing to work either shift, overtime, and/or weekends as needed.
  • Estimated shift times: Currently 1st shift from 6am - 4:30pm, moving to 5pm - 5am M-Th starting 2025.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted.
  • Must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be comfortable working in a production environment with extensive use of hazardous chemicals such as acids, alkalis, and solvents.
  • Must be able to wear appropriate PPE for lab and electro-chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Must be comfortable with climbing up and down ladders, grasping, standing, lifting, bending, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, carrying, crawling, and maneuvering in tight spaces.

Compensation and Benefits:

Pay range: $31.00/hour (Machine Maintenance Technician/Level 1), $37.00/hour (Machine Maintenance Technician/Level 2), $43.00/hour (Machine Maintenance Technician/Level 3). Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock, stock options, or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
