As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll play a key role in developing interfaces and tools that leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) technologies to solve complex problems. Our Human-Centered AI Solutions department is seeking a qualified engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of frontend tools that utilize AI, Large Language Models (LLM), and ML.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with MITRE and government sponsors to design and implement solutions for challenging problems in domains such as healthcare, intelligence, and defense
  • Develop frontend tools that integrate LLM, AI, and ML technologies
  • Build full-stack web applications using modern web frameworks and methodologies
  • Lead small projects or have accountability for project tasks, guiding the work of others in the technical development of web applications and software solutions
  • Apply rapid prototyping techniques and agile methodologies
  • Work independently and on teams to develop software prototypes using modern software engineering techniques with minimal instruction, guidance, and direction

Requirements:

  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with relevant experience who can immediately contribute at this job step; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience
  • Experience interfacing frontend applications with AI and ML technologies
  • Strong fundamentals in software engineering, object-oriented programming, web application development, and software architecture
  • Familiarity with the general principles, constructs, and concepts in which AI/ML tools are built
  • Experience with one or more modern web development frameworks (e.g., React, Angular)
  • Proven ability to work independently to learn new technologies, techniques, processes, languages, platforms, and systems
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Demonstrated ability to apply principles, theories, and concepts comparable to those obtained with a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret clearance
  • This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance
  • Strong fundamentals in AI and ML
