We are seeking a skilled Public Health Nurse Specialist to provide direct clinical and consultative professional services to our residents. This role requires a strong focus on disease prevention, early detection, and referrals, as well as the ability to work independently and collaborate with other professionals.

Job Summary

Under general supervision, this position will provide nursing services to County residents, including family-centered care, immunizations, sexually transmitted disease diagnosis and treatment, HIV counseling and testing, and nutrition and maternal and child health education.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Licensure by the Michigan Board of Nursing to practice as a registered professional nurse in the State of Michigan
  • Pass the complete examination, including the employment medical established for this classification
  • Successfully complete the six-month probationary period

Special Requirements

  • Submit to immunizations as required by the Health Division and to tuberculin skin tests or chest X-rays at County expense
  • Maintain current registration with the State of Michigan Board of Nursing

Pay Range

$57,022 - $71,948 per year
