Job Description

You will be responsible for realizing and evolving artistic direction, vision, and high production standards in the creation of products within the team. This role involves direct collaboration with creative, technical, and product leaders.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Realize and evolve artistic direction, vision, and high production standards in the creation of products within the team in direct collaboration with creative, technical, and product leaders.
  • Devise and construct technical solutions with 3D artists, technical artists, and engineers to advance the caliber of Avatars Art.
  • Communicate art direction goals and technical frameworks at an executive level to cross-functional product and technical partners.
  • Manage expectations for key stakeholders regarding the execution of quality VR experiences and content.
  • Regularly meet with art/tech art leads to define art quality standards, direct, and modify production artwork.
  • Coordinate creative and performance tradeoffs to deliver performant experiences at necessary quality levels.
Requirements
  • Main Qualifications:
  • Experience clearly articulating visual vision and aligning a team of multidisciplinary contributors, including technical artists, 3D artists, etc., to arrive at the desired visual goal.
  • Experience weathering change, being flexible with new information or goals, and setting a positive example through tough challenges.
  • Interest in driving varied art styles, from realistic to stylized, to bring visual quality within technical or performance guidelines.
  • Proven knowledge of art and visual design principles and real-time techniques relating to character pipelines.
  • Proven organizational skills with experience managing multiple projects, setting priorities, and meeting deadlines and expectations.
  • Technical understanding of standard game engines such as Unity or Unreal.
  • Proficient in industry-standard art tools such as Photoshop, Maya, ZBrush, Houdini, or similar.
  • Experience collaborating closely on large-scale project strategy with other disciplines.
  • Portfolio demonstrating a keen interest in games and/or VR.
  • 5+ years' industry experience in games or other 3D interactive media.
  • 5+ years' experience as a lead in charge of significant aspects of visual development.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Scaling Asset Development:
  • Experience scaling asset development through OpenUsd composition is a plus.
  • Modular Asset Creation Pipelines:
  • Experience developing modular asset creation pipelines is a plus.
  • VR Development Experience:
  • VR development experience is a plus.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this position is $149,000 to $205,000 per year, plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. In addition to base compensation, Meta offers benefits. Learn more about benefits at Meta.
