Job Description

A Swim Instructor at SafeSplash is responsible for upholding and teaching according to our swim school certification and curriculum.

The key duties include:

  • Teaching swimming skills in a fun, positive manner in accordance with our curriculum.
  • Providing continuous, positive feedback to students and customers on their swimming efforts.
  • Structuring class time to incorporate repetition, reinforcement, and introduction of required skills.
  • Ensuring swimmer safety.
  • Maintaining proper equipment and time organization for timely class start times.
  • Providing the Deck Supervisor with necessary information (ribbons, student changes, etc.) for proper class organization.
  • Providing monthly, individualized feedback on swimmers during Splash 'N Tell week.
  • Maintaining proper SafeSplash uniform standards as outlined in the employee handbook.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful as a Swim Instructor, you will need:

  • Previous swim instruction experience.
  • Current American Red Cross CPR-PR/AED, First Aid for adult, swimmer, and infant certifications.
  • WSI certification preferred.
  • Special consideration given to instructors with experience teaching swimmers aged 6 months to 10 years and Special Needs.
  • Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds in weight.

Compensation

The estimated annual salary range for this position is approximately $33,000 - $37,400, based on 20 hours of work per week.
