Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, Illinois. As an RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) with per diem opportunities, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our medical center.

About the Role

Under the direction of the medical director and cardiopulmonary director, you will be responsible for performing respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by physicians. Your emphasis will be on assessing, planning, implementing, and documenting care while considering the unique needs and requirements of each patient. In your absence, you may be assigned or identified as Lead RCP, taking responsibility for the section or department during your shift.

Responsibilities
  • Perform respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by physicians.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and document patient care while considering age and population-specific needs.
  • May serve as Lead RCP, overseeing the section or department during your shift.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License.
  • A current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintenance.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • At least 2 years of experience as an RCP (preferably).
  • ACLS certificate within 60 days of hire and ongoing maintenance.
  • NRP and PALS certificates are preferred.
  • An Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree (preferable).
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Compensation

The estimated annual salary for this position is approximately $63,000-$85,000, based on national averages and location considerations.
