About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned insurance professional to lead the development of a new Middle Market Miscellaneous Professional Liability (MPL) product. As a key member of our Professional Liability team, you will be responsible for shaping and executing the strategy for this new product, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute the business plan for the new MPL product, including market analysis, product development, and sales strategy.
  • Lead the drafting of policy wording and key coverages, working closely with actuarial and underwriting teams.
  • Collaborate with the actuary to develop rates and underwriting standards, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers in the MPL space, driving business growth and revenue.
  • Analyze data to inform business decisions, identify market trends, and optimize risk selection.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of business objectives.

About You

We are looking for an experienced MPL underwriter with a proven track record of success in the industry. If you have a strong understanding of risk management, underwriting principles, and business acumen, and are passionate about driving growth and profitability, we encourage you to apply. Requirements include:

  • 7+ years of experience in MPL underwriting, with a strong understanding of risk management and underwriting principles.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with brokers and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to analyze data and inform business decisions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a cross-functional team, with a focus on driving growth and profitability.

Domestic travel required, with occasional international travel. The role is open to Chicago, IL or Kansas City, MO office locations, with potential for other locations for a qualified individual.
