We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Ambulatory Care Nurse Coordinator to join our team at UPMC. As an integral part of our primary care and addiction medicine services, you will play a crucial role in supporting patients and ensuring their seamless care experience.

About the Role

In this full-time position, you will work Monday through Friday during daylight hours, with flexibility to work from home one day a week after orientation. Our ideal candidate will have previous outpatient experience and expertise in authorizations, triaging patient phone calls, completing prescription refills, and ordering and administering medication injections.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate accountability for professional development that improves the quality of professional practice and patient care.
  • Actively participate in practice-based shared governance, goal setting, and support the change and transition process to improve quality of care and the practice environment.
  • Serve as a highly engaged and full partner on the care team, responding willingly to care team member needs for assistance and partnership.
  • Participate in work that improves patient care and the professional practice environment, adapting to change and demonstrating flexibility with the change process.

You will also provide oversight and supervision to the overall practice environment, assisting all other disciplines and directing clinical/administrative activity as needed. Additionally, you will demonstrate leadership capabilities with new nursing staff, patient information coordinators, medical assistants, and office assistant staff in the daily management of the patient process.

Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of nursing experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
