We are seeking a highly skilled Critical Care Nurse Specialist to join our team at Travel Nurse Across America. This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) RN in Covington, WA.

About the Role

As a PCU Travel Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to those who require close monitoring and frequent assessment but aren't unstable enough to need ICU care. You will utilize computer equipment to monitor cardiac and other vital information, detecting any changes and thereby enabling intervention of life-threatening or emergency situations.

The ideal candidate should have 1-2 years of recent acute care experience and possess excellent skills for coping with stress. You must also be able to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds.

Responsibilities
  • Provide basic bedside care; stabilize critical cardiac patients.
  • Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
  • Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
  • Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients, and interpret and record electronic displays.
  • Initiate corrective action whenever information from monitoring equipment shows adverse symptomatology.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • BLS, ACLS, NIH certifications.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in acute care.

We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits and a fast-paced environment that requires good communication and teamwork skills.
