About the Role

BerryDunn is seeking a highly skilled Tax Manager to lead and manage multiple tax engagements for our not-for-profit clients. As a key member of our Not-for-Profit Tax Services Group, you will be responsible for facilitating the preparation and review of federal and state tax returns, identifying potential tax issues, and communicating risks and changes in tax policy to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the preparation and review of federal and state tax returns for not-for-profit clients.
  • Apply knowledge to understand potential tax issues and recognize potential risks and changes in tax policy.
  • Communicate potential risks and changes in tax policy to relevant stakeholders.
  • Assist in making top-level decisions regarding tax filing, preparation, and resolution of questions from federal/state agencies.
  • Actively participate in marketing, networking, and business development efforts.
  • Maintain client relationships and act as the primary contact for complex tax questions.
  • Participate as a critical member of the office/region leadership team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and CPA license required.
  • 4+ years experience in a similar role managing engagements, clients, and staff.
  • Excellent analytical, technical, and tax accounting/technology skills.
  • Expert knowledge of not-for-profit tax compliance and tax planning.
  • Strong leadership, business development, and client relationship skills.
